APTER FIFTY SIX

G unner……

Ellie pulled away from me after I swear was the most powerful kiss of my goddamn life. She was panting hard as she looked at me. I had one more thing to do.

I took the ring out of the box and slipped it onto her left hand. Not that I was happy about it but I was glad she broke her right arm instead of her left. She stared down at the ring for a few minutes before those beautiful blue eyes looked into mine again. I was about to ask if she wanted a glass of champagne when I noticed her eyes look up and over at the massive kind size bed and then back down to me again.

Well well….my sweet little Ellie was anxious to move to the more entertaining part of the evening.

“I still have thirty days……”

I smiled at her and pushed a piece of her hair back behind her ear.

“Ellie you have nothing to worry about sweetheart. It’s going to be perfect.”

As much as I wanted to just toss her on the bed and get to it I also wanted to take my time and savor every single moment. I loved giving Ellie all of her firsts. This was the most important one. One she would remember the rest of her life.

She was dressed in blue jeans and UT football T-shirt. Ari told me how upset Ellie was because the red sweater she bought wouldn’t fit over her cast. I reached up and cupped her face as I gently rubbed my lips across her lips a few times.

“More…”

I let out a laugh….”Greedy little thing aren’t you?”

I felt her smile against my lips. She lifted her left hand and started to run it through my hair. HOLY FUCK! I sure hope I lasted at least two minutes inside of her…..she was already starting to drive me insane. She laid her head on my chest and before I knew it I heard her softly breathing as she slipped into a slumber. I closed my eyes and dreamed of the many more times I planned on doing that again. I just needed at least thirty minutes and then I could wake her up again!

CHAPTER FIFTY SEVEN

E llie……

I woke up feeling like I was on cloud nice. OH. MY. GOD….that was the MOST amazing experience of my life. I had my heavy ass cast resting across Gunner’s stomach and my head on his chest. Hmmmm…...he smelled so yummy. I took a peek at my engagement ring and then around the room. I cannot believe he did all of this for me. I could not have picked out a more perfect ring. I wanted to marry him right away. I had already been thinking about this. I was not planning on going back to school next fall. Not if it meant Gunner would be here and I had to be in Austin. Now with us getting married I had even more of a reason not to go back. I would just take online classes and get my business degree. If I wanted to help Gunner out at the ranch I would need a business degree for sure.

Gunner started to move and opened his eyes. He looked directly into my eyes and smiled. To think that this man is mine…...that he.…..he actually wants me.

“Hey…”

“Hey back. Did I wake you up by moving around?” asked as I looked down at my cast.

Gunner let out a laugh.

“Nope! I sensed that someone was getting ready for round two!”

I felt the heat move into my cheeks. Would I always get embarrassed like this even after we were man and wife?

I slowly felt my body coming down from the overwhelming pulses as I closed my eyes for a second. When I opened them again our blue eyes captured each other. I felt like he was looking into my soul and I into his. I loved him so much.

“I love you Ellie…..I love you so much sweetheart.”

I collapsed onto his chest and was trying desperately to catch my breath. I couldn’t get the energy to even tell him I loved him.

“Gun…...ner…...I lov…...love you…...too!”

He started to laugh and slowly rolled me over being careful of my ribs and my arm.

I laid there on my back with my eyes closed. I felt like I was about to fall asleep again. After another minute or two and my breathing was back under control.

I opened my eyes to see him smiling down at me. “Marry me….”

He started laughing. “I thought I already asked that and you agreed!”

I laughed back at him. I never wanted to leave this cabin…...ever.

“I mean marry me today or tomorrow I just want to marry you right now!”

Gunner started to push my hair back with his fingers. Hmmmm it felt so good. I loved it when he touched me.

“Ellie, I would run off and marry you right now if I thought that was what you really wanted. But sweetheart I want to have a real wedding. I want to see you in a beautiful wedding dress, with Gramps and Grams there watching us, Jeff as my best man and Ari as your bridesbitch.”

I busted out laughing.

“GUNNER! Ari is not a bitch! She‘s just….outspoken! And she would be the maid of honor!”

Gunner leaned down and rubbed his nose against mine. Then he kissed me, so softly at first but it quickly turned to something more powerful.

He pulled away after a few minutes and left me breathless.

“Ellie I would really love to get married here at the ranch if that’s okay with you.”

I smiled because I wanted the same thing. Ever since our first night looking up at the stars I had been having the same dream over and over again. We were in that same pasture, Gunner and I were under the big oak and I kept turning around and seeing all these people looking at us. Every time I woke up from that dream I could never figure out what it meant. Now I knew.

“Nothing would make me happier Gunner. Except, I want to get married under our Oak tree. I’ve been having a dream, the same one over and over, with you and me standing under that tree. I never understood why I had that dream so much but now I know why. We were meant to be married there!”

“When sweetheart?” Gunner said up against my ear. Oh god….was it possible for me to want him again, so soon? He started to move his hand down my body until he found his way to the ache that already needed relief from him.

“Umm, oh god……Drew…...”

He rolled on top of me and made love to me again but this time it was so slow and sweet. Was it going to keep getting better each time?

“I love you Drew…...”

“I love you more……”
